"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity....
....devote yourself to public reading of Scripture, to preaching, and to teaching." 1 Timothy 4:12
Synopsis, thanks to imdb.com: "Capt. Caleb Holt lives by the old firefighter's adage: Never leave your partner behind. Inside burning buildings, it's his natural instinct. In the cooling embers of his marriage, it's another story.
After seven years of marriage, Caleb and Catherine Holt have drifted so far apart that they are ready to move on without each other. Yet as they prepare to enter divorce proceedings, Caleb's dad asks his son to try an experiment: The Love Dare.
While hoping The Love Dare has nothing to do with his parents' newfound faith, Caleb commits to the challenge. But can he attempt to love his wife while avoiding God's love for him? Will he be able to demonstrate love over and over again to a person that's no longer receptive to his love? Or is this just another marriage destined to go up in smoke?"
"The longer I love, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than the facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circustances, than failures, than successes, than what othe rpeople think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill, it will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for the day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the string we have, and that is our attitude...I a convinced that life is 10% what happens to e and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you....we are in charge of our attitudes."
this was little thing Ms. Rouse passed out today. it really stuck with me. the part i really agree with is "The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the inevitable." and pretty much hat a big part of life, living, is how you react to things. maybe not exactly 10% what happens and 90% how you react...but a big portion of it. it made me think. i mean....if i at least try to have a better attitude/outlook on things and with people...then how bad will things really seem? if you keep a good attitude....you'll at least have some hope. so stop looking so much on the past...things you can't change. learn from it and move on with your life. im not saying forget about it...but don't dwell on it and let it bring you down.
It hasn't always been this way. I remember brighter days before the dark ones came, stole my mind, wrapped my soul in chains. Now i live among the dead, fighting voices in my head, hoping someone hears me crying in the night and carries me away.
Set me free of the chains holding me. is anybody out there hearing me? set me free.
Morning breaks another day, finds me crying in the rain. all alone with my demons, i am. who is this man that comes my way? the dark ones shriek, they scream His name. is this the One they say will set the captives free? Jesus, rescue me.
Set me free of the chains holding me. is anybody out there hearing me? set me free...
As the God man passes by, He looks straight thorugh my eyes and darkness cannot hide. "Do you want to be free? lift your chains, I hold the key. All power on heaven and earth belong to Me....
